Sahale was our first 2007 and also our 2021 Convergence venue in Tahuya Washington. Spring is springing up all over at Sahale. After a very challenging winter, we are finally at the point where we can concentrate on some of the finer points of our landscape care – weeding, mulching, pruning, chipping, and generally spiffing up the retreat areas of the land. We would love your help, and enjoy your company, as we work toward helping Sahale shine for this summer’s retreat guests!

As usual, our schedule will look like this:

  • Friday – start at 1pm and work until 5
  • Saturday – start at 10am and work until 5
  • Sunday – start at 10am and work until 2pm

Come for a single day, or any combination of days and times. We will find work that fits any age and mobility. Bring your favorite tools and gloves, or use what we have!

Please contact me via email (info@northwestpermaculture.org), phone 360-471-1878 or text asap if you plan to come, so I can let our retreat staff know how many to expect. They will be providing delicious meals, comfy beds, and a hot tub in return for our labors. I look forward to seeing many of you there!

For April we are doing something a little different. April is ALDERMANIA at Sahale Learning Center! Our monthly spring cleanup volunteer weekend is all about thinning and rejuvenating our alder forest by the Tahuya River – you can return home with alder chips for smoking, logs for mushroom innoculations, and the satisfaction of getting to spend the weekend in the forest, while enjoying good food, soft beds, our amazing cedar hot tub, and the companionship of friends old and new! Come for the weekend or just for Saturday – we have jobs for every skill and strength level.Let me know by Tuesday 4/16 if you plan to attend –
