NW Permaculture Convergence the organization and the event

Mission:

We are the North West Permaculture Convergence organization. We are always re-thinking our Mission Statement. Last decade it was …

Our purpose is to provide education in the use of Permaculture as a powerful tool for helping to design and bring into being a culture and economy that can fit far better within the boundaries of Planet Earth.

We are going more for something like…
Whats NWPCC? Regional org encouraging practice of permaculture thru education both online and in person events, promoting Permaculture events and networking for those in the greater regenerative movement in the North West.

Want to help co-create our Mission Statement? Seems to me it will always need iterating as we adapt and change into a better culture, and better species as we decolonize and heal ourselves more and more. Here is an ongoing Mission Statement survey you can fill out. Its short.

Mission Statement Tips

Here are some tips and steps for writing a Mission Statement for non-profits.

This is our pre 2020 “our “Purpose” on the old website – a work in progress to re-imagine:

The ORGANIZATION:

Northwest Permaculture Convergence (NWPCC) is a Washington state 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Its purpose is to provide education in the use of Permaculture as a powerful tool for helping to design and bring into being a culture and economy that can fit far better within the boundaries of Planet Earth. NWPCC is organized by a volunteer Board that oversees the year-to-year organizing of the annual Northwest Permaculture Convergence (The Convergence), as well as several new projects designed to increase networking and build resilience within the Permaculture community.

The EVENT:

Entering its 14th year, the annual Northwest Permaculture Convergence (The Convergence) is an inclusive weekend-long event that alternates between the states of Oregon and Washington. The Convergence brings together a remarkable diversity of people to share their creative approaches for designing living environments, economic systems, and culture practices that thrive within ecologically sustainable limits. Long time enthusiasts and beginners alike pilgrimage from every corner of the Cascadian Bioregion, to educate on their successes (and failures!). Dozens of workshops and skillshares happen simultaneously all weekend long, making The Convergence a rich and valuable resource within our community.

The Board of Directors oversees event management and is fiscally responsible for each year’s event. NWPCC teams up with local communities for ‘Shoulder Events”,’ supporting our allies with tours, panel discussions, workshops, and classes. Every year, the organization offers a number of volunteer and work trade positions. Ride shares, home stays and food donations can be arranged.
