We specialize in growing perennial herbs, and offer a unique and diverse selection of herb crowns, rhizomes, trees, and shrubs.  This allows herb farmers and gardeners to diversify their plantings and achieve much faster results than starting from seed.

Last year was another vibrant, abundant, and community-filled season at Friends of the Trees Botanicals. We’re also celebrating a major milestone—our 30th year as a botanical supplier!

We began by supplying just a few tincture-making customers and have grown into a business that now serves hundreds of companies, herb stores, and independent herbalists.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us along the way. Your purchases allow our botanicals to travel from field and forest into teas, tinctures, salves, body care, and more – reaching many thousands of people nationwide. We’re honored to be part of that work.

Farm Highlights:

Our herb farm in Chimacum, Washington is now 9 years old, and officially a thriving mini-jungle of over 100 species in just ½ acre. Check out our YouTube channel with many videos showcasing this vibrant polyculture farm. 

We’re also celebrating our 4th year with Oregon Tilth Organic Certification, ensuring the quality and integrity our customers expect.

We collected 106 species of seeds, supplying a strong demand from seed companies and home herbalists.

The Pollinator Hedgerows, planted in 2021 – are now mature, buzzing with life, and producing steadily more botanicals and seeds.

Twisp River Medicinal Forest (our satellite farm in Twisp, Washington) completed its 5th year of restoration and rewarded us with Linden flowers, Juniper berries, Crampbark, and Oregon grape root, to name a few. The forest continues to “plant itself” and we continue to learn from its surprising resilience and diversity.

We’d like to give a shout-out to David, our 2025 apprentice, featured in this photo below harvesting elderberries. He’s been incredibly helpful, curious, and knowledgeable, always eager to learn and pitch in wherever needed. Big thanks! It’s a lot of work to keep this busy farm running.
