Now more than ever, our communities are in need of Food Sovereignty. This means that our communities have the right to choose our foods, how they are grown, and how we share them with each other. This leads to healthier communities and a healthier planet. Willow Center for Community Resilience warmly invite you to participate in a Community Shareout focusing on how we can build grassroots food systems that are good for our communities and the earth.

Some of our invited guests include: Black Star Farmers, Black Seed Agroecology Farm, Protectors of the Salish Sea, Beacon Food Forest, Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe Community Garden, and You!

Around the Cascadia bioregion, grassroots groups like Songaia are building Food Sovereignty and community resilience through Food Mutual Aid, Cooperative Food Systems, and other creative solutions. And many more want to learn how!

Songaia will share about our amazing “Everybody Eats” Food Program, which is one of our community’s great pride and joys! We will also learn from all the other groups present.

Our deepest aspiration is that more and more grassroots groups build Food Sovereignty in their communities. We are confident that sharing with each other will provide the inspiration and practical guidance for folks to begin.

Let’s learn from each other so we can build networks of mutual aid throughout the Salish Sea and Cascadia.
