Our Communications

NWPCC (as NW permaculture community connections) supports regenerative, ecological, educational, cultural, and community-centered initiatives through our newsletter, blog, speaker series and related communications channels. Our communications ecosystem exists not only to share information, but to nurture ongoing relationships between aligned projects, educational offerings, fundraisers, gatherings, and people working toward resilient communities, ecological regeneration, mutual aid, and cultural restoration.

Our Reach

NWPCC communications currently reach approximately 2,050–2,235 subscribers, with open rates often ranging from approximately 40–47% and occasionally higher within an aligned audience focused on regenerative culture, permaculture, ecological restoration, bioregionalism, community resilience, mutual aid, and cultural restoration.

Our communications network has remained both stable and steadily growing over multiple years through ongoing newsletters, blog features, onboarding pathways, and connective communications that continue linking new and continuing community members with regenerative educational offerings, events, resources, and opportunities for participation, collaboration on culture shifting and community-building.

Why Reciprocity Contributions Matter

First, lets be clear. This is a labor of love and of community tending, community connection and becoming aware of who is here. This is gift economy, voluntary and you give what you can while we (I ) give what I can. So, while much of this work is volunteer-supported, preparing and sharing community offerings requires substantial behind-the-scenes labor and infrastructure, including:

  • editorial review and formatting
  • excerpt preparation
  • blog publishing
  • newsletter integration
  • image placement and layout
  • audience cultivation and stewardship
  • communications coordination
  • hosting and software costs
  • AWeber newsletter infrastructure
  • WordPress maintenance and publishing systems
  • administrative and relational coordination time

Suggested reciprocity contributions help sustain this communications infrastructure and support the continuity of community-centered educational media and outreach. Again give what you can and it can be other non-monitary forms of social capitol. You can help me do this too.

What Can Be Shared

We prioritize offerings aligned with:

  • regenerative culture and ecology
  • permaculture and bioregionalism
  • ecological restoration
  • mutual aid and community resilience
  • place-based education
  • Indigenous solidarity and cultural restoration
  • restorative and cooperative systems
  • ecological and social healing
  • educational gatherings and trainings
  • community-benefit initiatives

Examples include:

  • educational programs and courses
  • gatherings and events
  • fundraisers
  • nonprofit and grassroots initiatives
  • ecovillage and land-based learning opportunities
  • connecting wanderers with the landed
  • cultural healing the human support aka conflict tending
  • cultural and arts offerings
  • aligned books, films, and media projects

Suggested Reciprocity Contributions

Contributions are flexible and depend on:

  • length and complexity of the submitted material
  • amount of editorial preparation required
  • whether content is newsletter-only or includes blog publication (usually both)
  • urgency and turnaround time
  • organizational size and funding capacity
  • alignment with NWPCC values and mission
  • whether the offering is commercial, educational, grassroots, nonprofit, or fundraising-oriented

Newsletter Listing or Brief Mention

Suggested reciprocity: $25–75

Newsletter Feature with Image & Excerpt

Suggested reciprocity: $75–175

Blog Post + Newsletter Feature

Suggested reciprocity: $150–350

This typically includes:

  • blog publication
  • featured newsletter placement
  • excerpt editing/preparation
  • image integration
  • formatting and publishing
  • link integration and coordination

Tuition-Based Educational Programs

Programs with tuition or significant revenue generation are encouraged to contribute at sustaining levels when possible.

Typical suggested reciprocity:  $150–300+

Grassroots, Mutual Aid, Indigenous-Led & BIPOC-Supportive Initiatives

NWPCC recognizes historical and ongoing inequities in access to resources, visibility, land, funding, and communications infrastructure. We especially seek to support Indigenous-led, BIPOC-supportive, grassroots, cultural restoration, mutual aid, and community-benefit initiatives.

Sliding scale reciprocity is available based on organizational capacity and circumstances.

Suggested ranges:

  • Community support scale: $50–75
  • Sustaining reciprocity scale: $100–150
  • Expanded reciprocity/supporter scale: $200+

Organizations or individuals with greater funding capacity help support the broader communications ecosystem and subsidize accessibility for smaller grassroots and community-benefit initiatives.

Reciprocity Is Negotiated

Reciprocity contributions and publication timing are coordinated collaboratively based on alignment, scheduling, editorial capacity, and the needs of time-sensitive community offerings.

Priority is generally given to offerings aligned with regenerative values, ecological restoration, cultural healing, mutual support, and community resilience.

Submission Guidelines

When submitting an offering for consideration, please include:

  • title
  • event dates
  • description or announcement copy (100–600 words preferred)
  • longer or highly detailed submissions may require additional editorial preparation time
  • relevant links
  • featured image – optional content images (2-3)
  • contact information
  • any registration or donation links
  • timeline or desired publication window

Advance notice of 2–4 weeks is appreciated whenever possible, especially for newsletter inclusion. We remain flexible and responsive in service to community needs and time-sensitive opportunities.

Once content and reciprocity details are finalized, blog publication is typically prepared within several days to approximately one week, followed by newsletter inclusion on a flexible publishing schedule including an image, excerpt, and link to the full post.
